Martyrs’ Day also known as Shaheed Diwas, is observed in India on 30th January to commemorate the death anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. This day is observed as a day of non-violence and peace.
As the country pays homage to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary, Prime Minister Narendra Modi called on the nation to observe two minutes of silence in memory of all those who were martyred in India’s freedom struggle.
Two minutes of silence was observed in Delhi Public School Kamptee Road, Nagpur at 11 a.m. on account of Martyrs’ Day in memory of the Father of the Nation and also for all those who sacrificed their lives during the struggle for India’s freedom. The students stood in silence as a mark of respect toward our brave martyrs. The valour of all martyrs who gave their lives for the nation will always be remembered and their sacrifices will be etched forever in our memory.
