MS Dhoni, the former captain of India, has gradually distanced himself from social media. However, his videos and images continue to circulate thanks to his fans all over the country and the world. And now, two years later, the Chennai Super Kings captain has shared his first Instagram post, which has gone viral on social media.
In this latest video, Dhoni appears in a new avatar, driving a tractor to plough a plot of land that appears to be part of his Ranchi farmhouse.
“Nice to learn something new but took way too long to finish the work,” Dhoni wrote along with the short clip.
Dhoni will captain the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2023. While he has announced his retirement from international cricket in 2020, he continues to play in the hugely profitable league. Dhoni handed over the leadership baton to Ravindra Jadeja last year, implying a succession plan in place, but with results not going their way in the first half of the league, Dhoni returned to be the team’s captain.
The IPL is set to return to a home-and-away format this year, after the Coronavirus pandemic prevented it from happening in previous years. This would give Dhoni the opportunity to play a match at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium, where he has a cult fan following and is known as the ‘Thala.’
The 41-year-old will look to add another title to his illustrious career, having already led the franchise to four IPL titles.
