The Nagpur Metro now offers a 30% fare discount to all academic sections. Earlier, a 30% fare discount was implemented for students enrolled in HSSC (12th Standard). The same is now available for students in ITI, diploma, and graduation courses. The new discounted fare structure would come into effect from Monday (13th February).
As of February 7, 2023, Maha Metro will offer students in grades up to XII a 30% discount (in addition to the regular discount of 10%). Every fare slab is eligible for the discount. The student community responded favourably to this, and there was a subsequent demand to extend the concession to other academic sections as well. Maha Metro is now expanding this 30% discount to all students at the aforementioned ITIs, Polytechnics, and colleges due to popular demand. This discount is available to students who are pursuing ITI, diploma, and graduation courses starting on Monday, February 13 and will be applied to all ticket slabs at the ticket counters of metro stations, as before, upon presentation of college identification or a bona fide certificate.
Maha Metro has also confirmed that the process for SBI to grant students a discount on Maha Cards has now been completed, and this will be made available to students starting on February 13. By presenting an authentic school or college ID, students can have their Maha Cards configured at Nagpur Metro stations. Students using Maha Cards for trips starting on February 7 (before re-configuration) will receive a refund of the discounted fare upon topping up their cards with valid identification or a bona fide certificate from their college or university. Date from which this amount will be available on doing card top up, will be informed shortly.
A distinct Maha-Card ‘exclusively for students’ will also be introduced by Maha Metro, as soon as SBI makes them available. These students-specific Maha Cards will have an in-built discount feature. Most important, the existing 10 % discount on every journey using Maha Card will continue for all esteemed card holders, as usual.
