The application process for the Chief Minister Fellowship Program commences. The program offers a unique opportunity to youth to work with the government. The last date for the application is March 2, 2023. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis have appealed to the budding youth to participate in the program and contribute to the development of the state.
The objective of the Chief Minister Fellowship Program is to offer youth an opportunity to work with government administration and to utilise their energy, courage, creativity and techno savviness to give momentum to the administrative processes and to implement the innovative initiatives. The program offers the youth an important experience in policy making, planning and implementation. It helps them in broadening their knowledge and exposure. The Chief Minister Fellowship Program was implemented during the period 2015 to 2020, after which it was discontinued. Now considering the public demand for the program, it is being relaunched again.
Age between 21 to 26 years, graduation with minimum 60% marks and full time work experience of a year are the basic criteria for the application. The fellows are selected on the basis of merit through on-line examination, essays and personal interviews. 60 candidates will be selected as CM Fellows from the received applications. They will work with various departments and offices of the government under the guidance of senior officers.
IIT Bombay and IIM Nagpur are the academic partners of the Chief Minister Fellowship 2023. The fellows will be required to complete the curriculum on various aspects of public policy designed by these two organisations, for which they will receive a Post Graduate Diploma Certificate from IIT Bombay or IIM Nagpur.
