The health department has approved a kidney transplant at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at MIHAN. The government hospitals’ transplant waiting list will be eliminated as a result. It is noteworthy that the transplant has not taken place in the Super Specialty Hospital, which is connected to the GMC, for the past three years. As a result, the poor patients were having issues.
Presently patients are being served through 18 different departments in AIIMS. Similarly, super specialty services are being provided. Because of this, the number of patients in the Out Patient Department (OPD) has increased beyond 2,000. Now with the commencement of organ transplant in this, the patients will be benefitted.
Meanwhile, director of AIIMS, Major General Dr Vibha Dutta took the initia- tive to start kidney transplant. Recently, the health department team inspected AIIMS.
