The lottery draw for admissions under the Right to Education Act (RTE) in Maharashtra schools was held on Wednesday. The procedure for kids to enrol in various schools will start on April 13. There are around 1,01,969 seats in 8,828 schools in Maharashtra. As per reports, 3,64,390 applications were received by the department.
An SMS will be sent to the mobile numbers of the parents whose children got selected for 25% seats under RTE on April 12.
The parents of children who get selected for the admissions will have to get their documents verified at Panchayat Samiti or a Municipal Corporation level authority between April 13 and April 25, 2023.
After the confirmation from the scrutiny committee, parents should confirm the admission till April 30, 2023 at the schools allotted to them. Sharad Gosavi, Director of Education (Primary) said, “The selection process is transparent, so parents should not fall prey to any agents or institution. Students selected under 25% quota will not get any step-motherly treatment.
Schools also should take care of that. The parents of selected wards will receive an SMS; if not they can check on the official website. A student’s name appearing in the list does not mean the student would get admission in the desired school.”
