The new National Education Policy (NEP) will be implemented in the next academic session, beginning June 2023. Professional courses like Engineering and Medical Sciences will be taught in Marathi, Maharashtra Minister for School Education Deepak Kesarkar said.
As per the NEP, the pattern of 5+3+3+4 will be followed. Those studying through the Marathi medium and those who wish to pursue professional education in Marathi will be benefited.
The NEP is being implemented after a gap of 34 years. In the first stage pre-primary of two years Std-I and II), the Second stage of Std-III to Std V, the third stage of Std-VI to Std – VIII, the fourth stage of Std IX and X will be followed. Either Std X or Std XII will be the Board examination.
This will be followed by Graduation of four years and post-graduation of one year.
