The ideology of starting Nagpur Ploggers was to make Nagpur City plastic-free and spread awareness about plastic pollution and biodiversity conservation.
Nagpur Ploggers has been conducting cleanliness drives for the last two years. The team has significantly observed that most of the single-use plastic is never collected properly due to the lack of dustbins in public places. People tend to throw away bottles or plastic items that end up in landfills.
Nagpur Ploggers in association with The Blind Relief Association (TBRAN) has set up proposed bins at various places in the city. Keeping in consideration of the great efforts by the Nagpur Ploggers team and TBRAN in conserving the environment, the KOMATSU India Pvt. Ltd has initiated support through its CSR funds this year.
The dustbins have been placed at: Mankapur Stadium, Bal Udyan, Japenese Garden, Futala Lake, Maharajbagh Zoo, Traffic Park, Ambazari Garden, Ambazari Crematorium, Swami Vivekananda Smark, Dattaraya Nagar Garden, and Amrai (Sonegaon).
The dustbins look very attractive. They are made mainly in three shapes: A heart, a Bottle, and a simple Box. These have been painted in red and blue colors and are extremely creative.
