Children selected under the Right to Education (RTE) quota have until April 25 to finish their school enrollment. However, due to increased traffic on the RTE admission portal, parents are experiencing technical issues while utilising this system.
After this was brought to the attention of Sharad Gosavi, the director of elementary education, he assured the children that sufficient time would be given to them for school entrance. As a result of the parents’ patience, as stated by the director, the stress in the education department has also decreased.
There were 653 schools enrolled in RTE in Nagour district, with 6,577 seats designated under the 25% quota. This had been applied for by 36,000 parents. In the RTE lottery, 6,513 children were chosen. From April 13 to April 25, these youngsters had to confirm their enrollment at the chosen school.
The RTE lottery for the 2023-24 session was held on April 5. The selected students had to travel to the verification committee between April 13 and April 25 to have their paperwork checked and their admission determined. However, due to the increased load on the RTE admission portal, the director of education has told parents that they should not be concerned, as the children who have been chosen would be given adequate time for admission.
Because there is only one RTE service in Maharashtra, parents of selected children flocked to the website from the first day and attempted to obtain the admission card.
The website was hanging due to server overload, causing the parents to suffer for 5-6 days. They were inquiring with the education department about whether or not the children would be admitted. Only 170 of the 6,513 children chosen in the RTE lottery have been accepted so far.
