Shakti, a national movement for women celebrated its Foundation day on 22nd April 2023, by organizing a public function at Physics Department Hall, VNIT, Nagpur.
Senior scientists, eminent personalities and social entrepreneurs were present at the function. Pratibha Shakti, Vidarbha unit of Shakti, conferred “Shakti Prerna Puraskar” on Dr. Saravana Devi, Chief Scientist for her dedicated work in Environmental Monitoring, health risk management including climate change and health impact. She has extended her approach to undertake assessment of the population including government judiciaries and industries. Her nobel work is useful to mankind. She was felicitated at the hands of National President, Shakti, Dr. Sudha Tiwari.
“iShakti Support”, a yearlong endowment along with certificate was conferred upon Ms. Rakhi Gupta, a school student from Indira Convent School, Nagpur for showing outstanding performance in her academics. Her father is a vendor. She was felicitated at the hands of Chief Guest of the function Prof. Abhay Gandhi, I-C Director, VNIT. The student will be supported by Pratibha Shakti for her academic books and material for the current year.
On the occasion of “Shakti Sthapana Diwas” Smt. Varsha Tatwawadi put forward the vision of Shakti and yearly activity report. Secretary, Adv. Smita Deshpande gave information on Shakti Sthapana Diwas and list of awardees till now.
Chief Guest Prof. Gandhi , I/C Director, VNIT appreciated the work of Pratibha Shakti by reaching the unreached and bring change in the overall status of women in society by way of scientific approach.
In her presidential talk, Dr. Sudha Tiwari elaborated on the movement and need of the organization. She said, team work, spread of movement in society till grassroot level and women empowerment throughout the country is the need of the hour.
The time bound program was compered efficiently by Dr. Surekha Kalkar.
Smt. Vaishali Deo chanted prayer and Shanti Mantra. Dr. Arti Shanware and all members of Pratibha Shakti worked hard towards success of the function.
