Great honour to Tendulkar on his birthday.
Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) has honoured cricketing legends Sachin Tendulkar and Brian Lara in a different style. Two entry gates of SCG have been named after the two.
These gates are named to honour Sachin Tendulkar on his 50th birthday and West Indian cricketer Brain Lara.
Tendulkar scored three centuries for India in five tests played at this ground and averaged 157 at what he described as his favourite ground outside his homeland.
Lara, the Prince of Trinidad, announced himself to the cricketing world in January 1993 by scoring 277 against Australia at the SCG, his first of 34 test centuries.
The sign board was unveiled on April 24. The test career records of both Tendulkar and Lara have been inscribed on the board, including the record at SCG
