New technologies are advancing across the board, from social media to the Internet of Things, digital fabrication to robots, virtual reality to synthetic biology. They are tearing up the rule book for individuals, businesses, and governments.
We are on the verge of a technology revolution that will drastically alter the way we live, work, and interact with one another. The transformation is unlike anything humankind has ever seen in terms of scope, scale, and intricacy.
Under the scope of this impact, Raman Science Centre intends to provide a brief glimpse into the technologies that will be vital for any nation through a freshly curated and created gallery suitably titled “Hall of Augmented Reality.” The ‘Hall of Augmented Reality’ will feature the following “Science Exhibits”: Supplemented Reality, Gesture Analysis, Systems of Life, Geographical Mapping, Virtual Pond, and so on.
The Hall is sponsored by Mineral Exploration Corporation Limited (MECL), Nagpur as part of its CSR Programme to commemorate “50 Years of Dedicated Service Towards Mineral Security of The Nation,” with the goal of “Bridging The Gap Between Initial Discovery of Mineral Prospect and its Eventual Exploitation.”
Dr Atul Vaidya, Director, National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) and Chairman, Local Advisory Committee (LAC), Raman Science Centre and Planetarium, Nagpur, will inaugurate the ‘Hall of Augmented Reality’ on April 28, 2023, at 1.00 pm, in the presence of Umesh Kumar, Director, Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai.
The ‘Hall of Augmented Reality’ will be open to the public every day from 9.30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (excluding Holi and Diwali). The Centre encourages visitors and students to take advantage of this one-of-a-kind amenity.
