RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat congratulates NCI members
The National CVancer Institute, Jamtha, Nagpur was dedicated to the nation on Thursday, at the hands of RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar, State BJP Chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Ex-MP Ajay Sancheti, President of the Trust Adv Sunil Manohar were the guests of honour. The presence of businessman Gautam Adani was a surprise for those present.

Dr Bhagwat congratulated The Institute’s Trust for developing a modern facility for the treatment of cancer. “It is not necessary that only government and administration can develop modern facilities for education and healthcare”, he said. The Institute is an example for society, as it has been developed with the contribution of the members of society and the dedication of the people involved in the work. The hospital is expected to continue with dedicated services to society.
Fadnavis said that his father (Ex-MLC Gangadhar Fadnavis) and NCI Founder Shailesh Joglekar’s wife died of cancer. Both had decided to develop a modern cancer hospital in Nagpur. For the first time in Central India, a paediatric ward has been introduced, where children would be treated free of charge. Efforts are being made to provide services at an affordable cost.
Fadnavis said that a ‘Dharmashala’ for those attending the patients would be built soon. Similarly, facilities for Thalassaemia and Sickle Cell patients will be started in the near future.
Gadkari said that the prevalence of Cancer in India is increasing, while America has reduced iot through health care services. This institute is also expected to help in reducing the instances through awareness creation.
Eknath Shinde said that providing affordable health facilities is a big challenge. Cancer is an issue of great care for all. He expressed hope that the Institute would provide the best services to cancer patients in the region.
