Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) Nagpur along with Laxminarayan Institute of Technology Alumni Association (LITAA) organised a Seminar on “Latest Trends in Food Processing Industry” virtually at VIA Auditorium, Nagpur on 27th April 2023.
The speakers for the seminar were Dinesh R. Garg, Managing Director of Leelaram Enterprises, Food Processing Consultant & Gaurav D Garg, CEO of Leelaram Enterprises, Food Processing Consultants from Delhi NCR.
During the session, the Speakers spoke about the latest trends in the Food Processing Industry and covered whereas the form of products that are being bought and consumed by us unconsciously and have now taken the shape of the latest trends which are making an impact on the overall way the foods was consumed in the past to what we have started consume off late from the recent few years and further evolving and taking a pie of our daily food consumption.
Knowingly or unknowingly processed foods which we consume from morning till night were covered and glimpses of the latest products snippets were shared. Some of the product categories covered included Our morning TEA/COFFEE/ Baby Food, breakfast products, products used in Kids’ Tiffin preparation, and foods we eat for lunch, dinner, and during social gatherings, meetings, or travel for work or pleasure. Some food processing technology for new categories of food gaining popularity like healthy biscuits like potato biscuits, cookies, khakra, Thepla, freeze-dried food for students traveling abroad or bachelors and spinsters staying alone who require a daily dose of healthy and nutritious food throughout the day for various meals were also covered.
They covered products such as millets and millet-based products and as also 2023 being considered as the year of millets globally, to single-use sauces, dips, chutneys and pickles, extruded snacks, healthy and functional snacks, and namkeens like extruded chips, popped chips, gourmet snacks like popcorn, makhana, roasted snacks, Tin canned food, processed carbonated, non-carbonated, dairy-based Beverages is Aluminum cans, glass, pet jars and spout pouches like cold brew coffee, cold coffee, herbal drinks, cold-pressed juices, fruit juices, Juice concentrates, spices, freeze dried foods, baby food, dehydrated fruits and vegetables consumed by us directly or indirectly being present in the foods we consume in a typical day.
Also, they shared a broad investment level for respective topics which were covered for anyone planning to venture into the sunrise food processing industry. The session also has lots of queries from participants which were satisfactorily answered by both the speakers respectively. Overall it was an enlightening seminar on Latest Trends in Food Processing Industry for our Vidarbha Regions especially for participants from Amravati, Akola, and Nagpur.
Earlier, Girish Deodhar, Chairman of VIA MSME Forum gave the opening remarks and stressed on the objective of this online session. Dr. Suhas Buddhe, Vice President – VIA shared his views about the potential of the food processing sector in the Vidarbha Region and how this sector will also strengthen the agriculture sector and support the farmer’s livelihood.
Dr. Sugandha Garway, Coordinator gave the introduction of eminent speakers and Madhav Labhe Chairman of LITAA proposed the vote of thanks. The event was largely attended by food processing industry owners of the region.
