A lady Police Inspector killed and five others including three cops sustained serious injuries after a police vehicle collided with a truck on Saturday. The accident took place on Samruddhi Mahamarg near Pandharkawada village. This is the second such incident in the series of fatal accidents due to high-speed driving on the Expressway.
Near Pandharkawada village, a truck (MH 17 BZ 6577) was taking a turn, when the Bolero, being driven at break-neck speed, collided with the truck.
The impact of the collision was so strong that Police Inspector Neha Chauhan died on the spot. Assistant PSI Sukhvindrasingh, Mitthu Jagada, driver Shammi Kumar and accused Vaidyanath Shinde along with truck driver sustained serious injuries in the accident. On getting information, Swangi Police reached the spot and rushed the injured to Sawangi hospital for treatment.
