A petrol pump owner was shot dead by three assailants in Bhiwapur in Nagpur district, on Wednesday morning. The assailants also used sharp weapons to eliminate the petrol pump owner Dilip Rajesjwar Sontakke (65).
Sontakke was in his cabin when the three attackers, who came on a motorcycle, entered his cabin and shot in his temple using a Mauser pistol. They also inflicted injuries usinig sharp weapons to ensure Sontakke’s death.. The three fled the spot immediately after the attack. The workers rushed towards Sontakke’s cabin, but could not dare to hold the assailants as they were fully armed.
Bhiwapur police were informed about the incident. Incharge of the police station Pramod Ghonge reached the spot with his staff. After the Panchnama, Sontakke’s body was sent for post-mortem. The reason behind the attack was not ascertained, although the murder is suspected out of disputes related to property. Police are searching for the killers using the CCTV footage in the region. A team of police personnel has also been sent to Nagpur.
