The Election Commission is going to adopt another new technique to prevent bogus voting. Instead of finger ink, laser marking will now be used during voting. This technology will be based on Artificial Intelligence or ‘AI’. there will be a camera in the EVM machine. Who will take photos of voters while voting.
Many new experiments have been done by the Election Commission to prevent bogus voting. This new system can be implemented in the assembly elections of five states to be held this year. Its trials are currently underway. Laser technology will stop manipulation.
For many days it has been claimed that laser made markings are almost impossible to remove. Not only this, a camera will also be installed in the EVM, which will capture the photo of the voter. Using this mechanism may cause the ink to expire.
This year the state elections will be held in Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana. Lok Sabha elections will be held soon after that. If this experiment is successful in the Assembly elections, then this system will be implemented in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
This new system will prevent bogus voting, double voting. Also laser technology will stop frauds in the voting process. Because laser marks on the fingernails will get the person caught if they come to the polls again. A camera in the EVM will identify the person coming for the second time and send an alert about it to the officer. This will prevent bogus voting.
The practice is to ink the index finger (first finger) of the left hand as a sign of voting. You gain entry by verifying your identity at the polling booth. An indelible ink is applied to your left index finger before actually voting by pressing the button on the EVM. A signature or thumb impression is then taken in front of your name. After that you can vote. This ink stays on your finger for the next few days. Before voting, the polling officer checks your left index finger for ink. If there is ink, it means the voter has already voted. Naturally, that person becomes ineligible to vote again.
