Following the defeat of his franchise team Royal Challengers Bangalore, skipper Virat Kohli shared a heartwarming post thanking fans and loyalists of the team.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) faced a heartbreaking exit from the IPL playoffs as they suffered a 6-wicket defeat against the Gujarat Titans. Despite a remarkable century by Virat Kohli, RCB fell short of securing a spot in the next stage of the competition. Kohli, who displayed exceptional form throughout the season, expressed his disappointment on Instagram, emphasizing the team’s efforts and resilience. He also thanked supporters, coaches, management, and teammates.
In 14 matches of IPL 2023, Kohli showcased his batting prowess, accumulating 639 runs at an impressive average of 53.25 and a strike rate above 139. This included two centuries and six fifties, with his best score being an unbeaten 101*. Kohli ended the campaign as the third-highest run-scorer, with only Faf du Plessis and Shubman Gill ahead of him. While Kohli’s individual performance was commendable, he will undoubtedly be disheartened by RCB’s inability to lift the IPL title once again.
