There appears to be no hurry for changing the notes of Rs 2,000 denominations.
Although the Reserve Bank of India has granted a period for the exchange of notes up to September 30, there was no rush in the banks for the exchange of notes. RBI has also announced that the Rs 2,000 note will be legal currency even after September 30, people were not seen queuing in banks, which was experienced after the demonetization in 2016.
The notes of Rs 2,000 were gradually withdrawn from circulation. The notes were not being printed for the last few years. Even the banks and ATMs were not issuing these notes. Only those who have black money would be worried over this fresh announcement of phasing out the Rs 2,000 currency notes.
