The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team reached Nagpur on Thursday to interrogate Jayesh Kantha in Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s threat and extortion case.
As soon as the team arrived, a meeting was held with the police officers regarding the matter. NIA officers reached the Gymkhana at Civil Lines and discussed with the senior officers of the Nagpur Police team involved in the investigation. It is to be known that, on January 14 and March 21, Kanta called Gadkari’s office and threatened Gadkari with a bomb for not giving Rs 100 crore for the first time and demanded Rs 10 crore for the second time.
On March 28, the police arrested him from Belgaum jail and brought him to Nagpur. Investigation revealed Jayesh’s links with several banned organizations, including terrorist organizations Lashkar-e-Taiba, Al Badar, PFI, Pakistan Intelligence Agency ISI and D Company, after which NIA also got involved in the investigation of this case.
