Nagpur Municipal Corporation has proposed the construction of cement concrete roads from Azaad Chowk to Lakadipul and from Manipur Chowk to Lakadipul, extending up to the Ayachit temples. As per the order issued by the Commissioner and Administrator, Radhakrishnan B., the traffic on these roads will be restricted until November 14, 2023, to facilitate the construction work. Once the traffic is diverted from Azaad Chowk to Lakadipul and from Manipur Chowk to Lakadipul, the traffic diversion will then be extended from Darodkar Chowk to Lakadipul and from Manipur Chowk to Lakadipul to Jhenda Chowk and finally to Gangabai Ghat Road.
The order, issued by the Municipal Commissioner, specifies that during the ongoing work at the designated locations, caution boards, barricades, and other communication tools should be used to inform the citizens about the diversion and closure of the existing road for traffic or control traffic. Suitable alternative routes should be clearly marked to ensure convenient access for residents residing on the other side of the road. The work should be completed within the stipulated timeframe, and the road should be reopened for traffic accordingly. The order also emphasizes the requirement of installing LED hoardings for informing the drivers during nighttime. LED malls should be placed on barricades as well. Temporary dual roads should be constructed on the opposite side to facilitate traffic movement.
