Tirupati Balaji Temple, also known as Sri Venkateswara Swami Temple, experienced a surge in devotees this summer, resulting in overcrowding and long waiting times. To address this issue and ensure the safety and convenience of visitors, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has implemented changes in the darshan procedure until June 30. These changes include modifications to Arjita Sevas and VIP Break Darshan.
The discretionary quota in Suprabata Seva has been removed for three days – Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – saving around 20 minutes for regular devotees. Additionally, Tiruppavada Seva will now be conducted on Thursdays in Ekantam, saving approximately 30 minutes for devotees. VIP recommendation letters will not be accepted on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, except for self-VIPs who will be allowed for Break Darshan. This adjustment will save around three hours of darshan time on these specific days.
The temple authorities have urged all devotees, including VIPs, to cooperate with each other for a comfortable Srivari Darshan experience. The temple currently holds three daily pujas, with the morning puja open to the public and the afternoon and night pujas restricted to temple officials.
