Lodge Trimurty No 294(GLI) donated Wello Water Wheels worth over Rs 1.72 lakh to the needy villagers of Padmapur (Bhuj), Ballarpur (Mudza), Ekara and Mendki in Tehsil Brahmapuri of district Chandrapur, facing water scarcity during summer, bringing smiles on their faces at a function held on Sunday.
Brahmapuri being one of the hottest places in the state during summer, these four villages were facing acute water scarcity.
Considering the serious problems of the poor villagers, Lodge members contributed Rs.1,72,280/- among themselves and collected it to ameliorate the situation. Each water wheel has a capacity of 45 litres, and people can carry it at a long distance like a hand scooter or roll down from a high altitude area.
Last summer also, the lodge had donated wello water wheels worth Rs 1/59 lakh to the needy villagers of Maldongri in tehsil Bramhapuri.
Worship Master Naveen Jha, Secretary Tarun Mehra, Project Coordinator Tarun Shrivastava, Dr Arun Chaturvedi, Vinay Zade, Rohit Jain, Anil Shrivastava , Naresh Agarwal, Kishor Naik, Anuj K Sharma, Satish Laddhad, Mukesh Ahuja, Awanikant Verma, J.Karpate and Dilip Narang were prominently present at the function.
Jayant Shrivastava and Satish Shrivastava assisted the lodge members in identifying the beneficiaries and making all arrangements for the programme.
Naresh Agarwal distributed more than 15 kilogramme sweets to the villagers. The lodge announced to present a tablet to the girl topper in the HSC examination from amongst the four villages.
Shalutai Ramteke, Sarpanch (Bhuj), Asha Dhanorkar, Tulsiram Meshram (both members of Gram Panchayat, Bhuj), Manik Patil Therkar, Ex Chairman Tantamukti, Bhuj, Pundlik Patil Zode, Balkrishna Thakare, Nagoji Maske Dnayneshwar Maske (all from Padmapur) thanked the lodge for the noble gesture.
