Nagpur’s Capt Manpreet Singh Randhawa has been selected to take part in 25th Asian Men’s Club League Handball Championship to be held at Isfahan, Iran from July 1 to July 11.
Capt Randhawa is a serving Indian Army officer commissioned in the artillery regiment in March 2020. He was a part of the Indian team for the 8th Asian men’s Handball Championship 2022. He is the first and only officer from the armed forces to represent and captain the Indian team in handball.
The Handball Federation of Iran will be conducting the men’s week-long international event. The Indian team will be taking part in the event under the aegis of Handball Association of India.
Capt Randhawa has represented RTMNU on six occasions and has played five school nationals. He gives credit of his selection to Indian Army and Commanding Officer, his college professors and his father cum-coach Dr Inderjeet Sing Randhawa, Dr Lovneet Kaur Randhawa, and other family members, international handball player, president Nagpur District Handball Association Roopkumar Naidu and office-bearers of Handball association India.
