A male passenger assaulted a crew member on an Air India flight, leading to his arrest upon landing at Delhi airport. The Air India flight was bound for Delhi from Goa.
The incident highlights a concerning trend of unruly passenger behaviour on flights in recent months. The airline confirmed that the passenger verbally abused and physically assaulted a crew member during the flight, with the aggression persisting after landing. Air India swiftly handed the unruly passenger over to security personnel and reported the incident to regulatory authorities.
The airline strongly condemned the behaviour, emphasizing the safety of crew members and passengers as their top priority. In April, Air India had already imposed a two-year flying ban on an individual who caused harm to cabin crew members. Unruly behaviour can result in varying durations of flying bans, classified into three levels based on severity, according to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation.
