Rains dampened Nautapa – the nine extreme days of heat. But Nagpur is set to witness a heat wave in the coming week, warns Indian Meterological Department. According to the predictions, the temperature may reach up to 45 degrees Celsius in the next week.
After three days of heavy downpours, the city is witnessing a surge in mercury as the city recorded 43.0 degrees Celsius on Friday. Amravati recorded the highest temperature at 43.6 degree Celsius, followed by Akola and Wardha at 43.4 degrees Celsius.
As the heat soars, staying indoors during the peak afternoon is advised to avoid heat strokes. If you witness symptoms like lightheadedness, palpitations, excessive sweating, loose motions or fainting, please consult a doctor immediately. Drink enough water infused with electrolytes to compensate for the loss of minerals due to sweating.
