Students of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University secured second position in the ongoing third Khelo India University Games held in Uttar Pradesh. In the games being held in Varanasi, the men’s team from the university achieved a score of 399.27, resulting in a silver medal.
Savitribai Phule Pune University secured a gold medal with a score of 399.50, while Guru Jambheshwar Science and Technology University in Hisar won a bronze medal with a score of 398.91. The team from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, guided by Dr. Tejas Singh Jagdale, includes Vaibhav Shriram, Vaibhav Deshmukh (Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya), Harshal Chute (Priyadarshini Bhagwati College), Pranay Kangale (MM Science College), Ramanand Raut (Nabira Mahavidyalaya Katol), and Om Rakhade (Dhanwate National College).
In the previous edition of the Khelo India Vidya Peeth Games, the men’s team secured a gold medal, while the women’s team achieved a silver medal. However, the women’s team improved their performance this time and awarded Nagpur University a gold medal. The men’s team narrowly missed the gold medal. Dr. Sharad Suryavanshi, Vice-Chancellor of Nagpur University, Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Raju Hivase, Registrar, as well as members of the Selection Committee, Dr. Sonali Shirbhate, Dr. Devendra Wanakhede, Dr. Tejas Singh Jagdale, Anil Mohagavakar, and coaches Sandesh Khare, Siddharth Khare, and Bhushan Take, congratulated the victorious team.
