Daga Smriti Government Women’s Hospital suffered a power cut between 8.15pm and 10.40pm on Sunday due to a technical fault. As the patients in all the wards remained in darkness, the lives of the patients were hanging. The relatives alleged that the treatment stopped during this period. The Daga administration, said that they have taken necessary care of the patients.
Daga Hospital is famous as an important government hospital for Gynecology and Obstetrics in Central Nagpur. Most deliveries in Nagpur district take place in this hospital. A generator is expected here to avoid disturbing the patients. But at around 8.15 pm, the power supply here was stopped due to technical reasons.
As there was no electricity, all the wards were in darkness. The relatives allege that the treatment stopped due to this. Some patients were moved elsewhere for safety. The Daga administration claimed that there was no need to shift the patient and the treatment was not stopped. Some relatives were encouraging patients and their relatives through mobile phone torches. Many patients in the ward were gathered in the hospital area due to heat.
Blankets were used to provide the required warmth to the underweight children due to power outage of the ‘warmer’ required for them.
