The Nagpur district has announced a special revision program for voter lists from June 1 to October 16, 2023. The District Magistrate and Electoral Officer, Dr. Vipin Itankar, has called upon all voters to register and submit a photocopy of their Aadhaar card along with other necessary documents during the voter registration process.
The voter registration officer of the Election Commission has urged citizens who have turned 18 years old to enrol themselves for voting. The Election Commission of India has introduced online voter registration through the NVSP.IN portal, and a mobile application called Voter Helpline is also available. Offline voter registration is still possible through every village’s respective Block Level Officers. During this period, voters are encouraged to take advantage of the special revision program to correct voter ID details, link Aadhaar cards, update voter information, and reduce discrepancies in the voter list. The District Magistrate has emphasized the importance of maximum voter participation in this revision program.
