Veteran swimmers & the swimming members of Aqua Sports Club Anjali Gajbhiye & Nilima Dharkar brought laurels to the City by winning several medals at the 8th National Games – 2023 organised by Sanyukta Bhartiya Khel Foundation at Dr. ShyamaPrasad Mukharjee Swimming Pool, Talkatora, New Delhi.
Representing Maharashtra in swimming Anjali won 3 Gold in age group Women 35-40 yrs.in event 50 & 100 Mts. Freestyle and 100 Mts. Breaststroke whereas Nilima won 2 Gold & 1Silverin age group Women 51-55 yrs. in 200 & 400 Mts. Freestyle – Gold and in 50 Mts. Backstroke – Silver. With their best performance they are now qualified for International Swimming Championship – 2023 scheduled at Dubai.
Both the swimmers are the regular members of Aqua Sports Club taking swimming training under the able Guidance of Senior Coach Dr. Pravin Lamkhade (NSNIS, Patiala) and ASCA Level – 5 Coach Shri Vishal Chandurkar Sir on NIT Swimming Pool in the evening session 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
