The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has achieved a remarkable feat by constructing the 4-lane Solapur-Bijapur section of National Highway-13 in a record time, earning recognition in the ‘Limca Book of Records’ and the ‘Asia Book of Records’.
The project involved laying 26.82 kilometres of bituminous concrete within an astonishing twenty-hour timeframe. This infrastructure development, spanning a length of 109 kilometres, includes the construction of major bridges, minor bridges, interchanges/flyovers, rail-over bridges, vehicular underpasses, and a Solapur Bypass. The accomplishment enhances the connectivity between Maharashtra and Karnataka, reduces travel time, promotes fuel conservation, and contributes to the overall infrastructural development.
