MIDC police arrested a 25-year-old man who tried to molest a 4-year-old girl in Vaishali Nagar. The incident took place on Saturday around 5 pm.
Accused Abhijit Sesharao Manekar (age 25) was known to the victim’s family and used to visit their house.
On Saturday, the victim’s mother had gone to work. Taking advantage of this, accused took the girl to the drain near the house at around 4 pm. Passer-by’s noticed Abhijit touching the girl inappropriately. He immediately fled from the spot.
People thought that the absconding accused would not come back to the girl’s house, but again on Sunday morning, he was seen coming to the girl’s house. Thr local youth caught him and handed over to the police. According to the information provided by the victim’s mother, a case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is being conducted by Police.
