A drama ‘Siyavar Ramchandra Ki Jai’ will be perfomed on June 17 at Kavivarya Suresh Bhat Auditorium, Nagpur at 7 pm. The child artistes are from the city in the age group 5-15 years.
This play on the life of Lord Rama is presented by Balranjan Sanstha. This will be a combined efforts of almost 75 children and 25 backstage workers.
The idea behind this is to let the children know the entire essence of Ramayana rather knowing the epic story in bits and pieces. The drama will performed for two hours and is in Hindi language.
The play is written and directed by Radhika Deshpande, who is also an artist, and works for film and television industry. The artists are receiving support from Sanjay Pendse who is a senior theatre director and an artist, and from Sharad Ponkshe, a Mumbai-based Hindi and Marathi serial director and an artist.
Suresh Sagdev, Anuradha Pandey, Meghshyam Badkas are head of production and Shashi Shekhar Deshpande, Ranjna Joshi, Sakshi Kolhe and Ankita Malusure are production assistants. The props and decoration will be done by Satish Pendse, Swati Makhe, Priya Aandankar, Anjali Joshi and Mayuri Pingale, digital lightings by Kishore Battase and group, make-up by Baba Khirekar and group.
The dance choreography is done by Ketki Salankar, Shruti Sorte, Saee Soman and Rashi Kolte, costumes by Rupali Pathak, Rohini Londe, Monika Singh and Shubdha Phaltankar.
Prasanna Shembekar and Mahendra Wagh is managing the music and songwriting department, while music composition is done by Prashant Phasge. Sarika Pendse, Bhagyashree Chitnis, Ketki Kane, Ketki Salankar and Dhanashree Fatak will do the anchoring. The organisers have appealed to the citizens to attend and enjoy the event in large numbers.
