The State Public Works Department (PWD) has launched the Pothole Complaint Redressal System (PCRS) app, a revolutionary solution aimed at eradicating potholes from roads. With the promise of repairing reported potholes within a commendable 72 hours, this initiative brings great relief to citizens who have long endured the inconvenience caused by deteriorating road conditions.
The PCRS app, now available on the Google Play Store under the name PCRS PWD, allows drivers to submit complaints by uploading photos of potholes or damaged road sections. However, it is important to note that this app exclusively covers PWD roads. In contrast, roads managed by other authorities, such as local bodies or the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) are not included.
To ensure effective communication, the pictures must be accompanied by essential information about the road and the pothole’s location. These complaints will be promptly forwarded online to the relevant PWD officer responsible for addressing the issue.
While the app has been developed, its successful implementation remains uncertain. Nonetheless, the introduction of PCRS brings hope for improved road conditions and smoother journeys for all commuters.
