Consortium of National Law Universities, the governing body responsible for conducting the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT), has announced significant changes to the undergraduate (UG) CLAT 2024 examination. The decision was made during a meeting held on May 20, 2023, with the aim of making the examination more student-friendly and accessible.
Starting from the upcoming UG CLAT 2024, the test will now consist of 120 questions, reduced from the previous 150. As before, candidates will be given a time limit of 2 hours to complete the examination. The questions will be categorized into five sections: English Language, Current Affairs Including General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.
It is important to note that there will be no changes to the syllabus and number of questions for the Postgraduate CLAT 2024.
The Consortium of NLUs has expressed its commitment to supporting candidates in their preparation for CLAT 2024 and ensuring that the examination remains student-friendly and accessible. These changes aim to create a more streamlined and efficient testing process for aspiring law students.
