The Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) has introduced new regulations for students seeking admission to the first-year (FY) degree of non-professional courses in affiliated colleges. According to the university’s announcement for the academic year 2023-24, students must complete two mandatory tasks during registration.
Firstly, students are required to ensure their inclusion in the electoral rolls by registering as eligible voters. This means they need to provide relevant documents to prove their eligibility as Indian voters. The university will verify the students’ names in the electoral rolls, emphasizing the importance of active citizenship and participation in the democratic process.
Secondly, students must open academic credit accounts before finalizing their admission. This step aims to streamline the administrative processes and ensure efficient management of students’ academic records.
With these new regulations in place, RTMNU aims to promote civic responsibility and encourage students to engage in the electoral process actively. By including these requirements in the admission program, the university underscores the significance of being informed and responsible citizens while pursuing their academic endeavours.
