Nagpur Municipal Corporation employees who were engaged in cleaning the nullah under Dharampeth Zone were attacked with swords on Saturday near Yashvant Nagar, Hill Road.
NMC employees Satpute and Vikam Chavan were cleaning a nullah with the help of JCB when three people abused them. When confronted for using abusive language, they came with swords and Gupti and attacked them. The three were under the influence of liquor. The incident took place around 2 pm on Saturday.
Satpute and Chavan tried to protect them from the attack, in which the fingers of Satpute were severed. Chavan’s left hand got injured.
Both the NMC employees informed the police about the incident. Police immediately swung into action and arrested the three assailants, informs Assistant Police Commissioner Prakash Warade.
