Ten more buses have been added to the fleet of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s ‘Apali Bus’ service. Municipal Commissioner Radhakrishnan B. inaugurated the buses on Wednesday.
Almost one and a half lakh people of the city travel by Apali bus. Nmc received 10 state-of-the-art air-conditioned e-buses through the funds of the 15th Finance Commission of the Central Government and through the Environment Department of Nmc.
The total number of e-buses in the city has now increased to 96. Nmc had 46 non-AC e-buses and 40 AC (air-conditioned) buses. These buses received from PMI company are of modern design and the number of seats of these buses will be 26 plus 1. Soon these buses will serve in different parts of Nagpur city.
Equipped with the latest technology, these air-conditioned buses have special facilities for the disabled. A modern disabled portion has been installed near the door of the bus to help disabled people board the bus.
