9-year-old Chirag Pravin Patil, residing in the railway quarters, had a distressing incident while playing with a battery. Unexpectedly, the battery he was handling exploded, causing a significant injury to Chirag’s right cheek. The severity of the explosion led to immediate action as a concerned individual rushed him to the Prathmik Arogya Hospital. Dr. Mayur Dongre examined Chirag and promptly referred him to a medical facility in Nagpur for specialized treatment. Social worker Hitesh Bansod played a crucial role in assisting Chirag’s admission to the trauma centre in the hospital.
The incident occurred during Chirag’s attempt to connect a cell resembling a powerful rechargeable battery to a remote device. While endeavouring to connect the cell to any available object, an unforeseen rise in temperature caused the cell to explode in close proximity to Chirag’s cheek suddenly. This alarming occurrence highlights the potential risks associated with mishandling batteries and serves as a reminder of the importance of caution and safety when dealing with such items.
