Rashtrasant Tukdoji Maharaj Nagpur University, which is celebrating its centenary year, has been in the limelight with various controversial incidents in the last few days. To curb the irregularities in the university, former Vice-Chancellor has started “Vidyavedh” Forum.
Former Vice-Chancellor of the University Dr. Siddharthvinayak Kane, Vinayak Deshpande, Dr. Shrikant Komawar, Dr. Shyam Dhond will investigate the mismanagement of the university under the forum. They also announced to fight the battle from the administrative level to the court.
Dr Kane alleged that Controversies have increased in the university after Subhash Choudhari took charge of VC. It was during Kane’s tenure that the MKCL company removed the examination work and expelled them from the university. But Dr. Chaudhary objected that it is beyond understanding why he brought the company back. The examination department has completely collapsed. He also objected to declaring these departments autonomous when there were no regular professors in the PG department of the university. He expressed the fear that the quality of education will be compromised due to this.
Dr. Vinayak Deshpande also objected to the university’s haste in implementing the new education policy. There is still no clarity in the new policy. He questioned that a student can choose a course in more than one branch but if the college does not have that course, how will the student get admission in two colleges. In order to solve these questions, Vidyavedh will implement an awareness campaign across the state.
