Laxminarayan Institute of Technology (LIT), a highly regarded educational institution in Central India specializing in Chemical Engineering, has received accreditation from the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for two of its B Tech programs. The programs, Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical Technology have been accredited for a period of three years, further solidifying LIT’s status as a NAAC A+ and NBA-accredited institute. LIT, which operates as a constituent college of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, recently attained the distinction of becoming a Unitary Public University. The NBA accreditation serves as another noteworthy achievement for LIT.
Previously, Laxminarayan Institute of Technology was granted an A+ rating by the esteemed National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), placing it among the top 5% of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) in India. This recognition was awarded in August 2022, based on a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.48 on a 4-point scale. Within the span of a year, two departments within the institute, namely Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical Technology, applied for NBA accreditation. A team of experts from the NBA conducted a visit to LIT between May 6 and May 8, 2023.
This NBA accreditation is a matter of immense pride as it resolves long-standing issues faced by LIT graduates working in Kuwait and Gulf countries. The accreditation validates the high-quality standards maintained by LIT’s Chemical Engineering and Petrochemical Technology courses, ensuring that they meet rigorous quality benchmarks. This recognition not only equips students with comprehensive knowledge and skills but also provides them with a competitive advantage in the job market, as employers place greater value on degrees from accredited programs.
Dr. Raju Mankar, Director of LIT, attributes this remarkable achievement to the dedicated faculty members, Dr. Bharat Bhanvase and Dr. Girish Deshmukh, as well as the unwavering support from the LIT Alumni Association.
