Heart attack was earlier considered to be a disease of old age. But now everyone is shocked by the heart attack suffered by a newly born baby. An incident has come to light in Nagpur where a three-month-old baby suffered three heart attacks.
The baby was born before 9 months in Nagpur’s Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Considering his critical health he was kept in NICU. The child was having trouble breathing and also had viral pneumonia.
Due to pneumonia, his lungs were damaged. He was kept on a ventilator for two weeks. Within 90 days, this newborn suffered three heart attacks. However, on all three occasions, doctors managed to control the situation and saved the child’s life. The doctor said that premature babies get an E stomach infection. Even after birth, they are at a very high risk of infection.
In this regard, Dr Abhishek of GMCH said that in such a situation the child is not given more antibiotics. So it was decided to put him on the ventilator. He wanted a CMV test but it was not available at the hospital. Moreover, many people cannot even afford it. Therefore, with the consent of the parents of the newborn, he was given an injection of Clenciclovir.
Now the baby is completely fine and has been discharged after treatment and sent home.
