According to a survey conducted by the online platform LocalCircles, approximately 81 per cent of respondents have encountered various issues related to fee refunds, trust, transparency, and more from popular edtech platforms. The survey carried out between February 16 and June 15, 2023, collected responses from around 32,000 participants.
LocalCircles reported that among the users who experienced problems, 32 per cent faced issues with BYJU’s, while Unacademy and Udemy each had a 10 percent share. Vedantu and Simplilearn encountered issues with 3 percent of users, and Physics Wallah faced problems from 2 percent of respondents.
The survey encompassed a range of concerns voiced by edtech users. Around 12,000 respondents provided feedback on the issues they encountered, including concerns related to teaching staff changes or effectiveness, refund disputes, trust issues such as false promises, and transparency issues.
In response to the survey findings, a spokesperson for Physics Wallah emphasized the company’s commitment to student satisfaction and prompt resolution of any encountered issues. The spokesperson highlighted a remarkable success rate of over 99 per cent in addressing student tickets over the past year and assured that timely responses to meet student needs remained a priority.
The survey sheds light on the challenges faced by users of popular edtech platforms and highlights the need for continuous improvement and enhanced user experiences in the online education sector.
