Following the directive from the Maharashtra Government’s Directorate of Health Services, Nagpur’s Government Medical College and Hospital, Daga Hospital, and Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (Mayo) will initiate the facility for online registration for births and deaths starting July 1.
The Municipal Corporation and District Health Officer provided training to hospital staff to facilitate the transition. The training was supervised by Raju Dange, Deputy Director of Health Services, Nagpur, and Narendra Bahirawar, Medical Health Officer of the Municipal Corporation.
Births and deaths occurring in other Nagpur hospitals will be registered by the respective zones of the Nagpur Municipal Corporation. All heads of government health institutions in Maharashtra have been designated Registrars of Births and Deaths, responsible for issuing certificates. Medical and Mayo Hospitals have already initiated online registration, ensuring efficient and accurate record-keeping.
