Sharad Pawar sacked 11 leaders of the Nationalist Congress Party from the party fold on Thursday. The 11 include Praful Patel, Sunit Tatkare, and nine leaders who took oath as ministers in Shiv Sena-BJP Government. Pawar also indicated that he will move the Supreme Court against those who rebelled against his leadership to join the Shiv Sena-BJP alliance.
Nine senior members of NCP led by Ajit Pawar rebelled against Sharad Pawar and claimed that they have the support of the majority. Ajit Pawar claimed that his faction is the NCP. He also removed Sharad Pawar from the post of NCP Presidentship.
After holding a meeting of NCP in Delhi Sharad Pawar informed the media about the removal of 11 leaders from the party. The party members passed the resolution to remove them from the party.
Sharad Pawar said that he will move the Supreme Court for retaining the party and its symbol with him. About his retirement, he said his age does not matter so long as he is working for the betterment of the party.
MPs Praful Patel and Sunil Tatkare were removed from the party immediately after nine leaders led by Ajit Pawar took oath as ministers on Sunday. A formal resolution to sack the 11 leaders was passed during the party meeting on Thursday.
