A 27-year-old man was cheated by a cyber criminal of Rs. 14 lakh. Ashish Gyandev Dawande(27) was approached by an unknown cyber criminal. The person offered him a part-time job by sending two IDs on WhatsApp.
After completing the task the cyber criminal asked to deposit Rs 14 lakh 49 thousand in different accounts saying that investment would bring huge benefits. After Ashish deposited the amount, the accused broke off contact with Ashish without giving any benefit and without returning the original amount.
As soon as he realized that he was cheated, Ashish lodged a complaint with the cyber police. The cyber police have registered a case against the unknown accused under section 420, sub-section 66 (d) of the IT Act and started searching for the accused.
