The Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (MSETCL) has announced a four-hour power shutdown for the Raw Water (RW) Pumping station at Navegaon-Khairi on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 10:00 Hrs to 14:00 Hrs. This shutdown is necessary for repair and maintenance work on the 33 KV High Tension (HT) line from Mansar – Parseoni- Navegaon Khairy Electrical Yard.
During the four-hour electrical shutdown, water pumping from Pench-1, Pench-II, Pench-III, and Pench-IV Water Treatment Plants (WTP) will be halted. Consequently, areas supplied by the feeder mains of Pench-I, II, III, and IV will experience a temporary suspension of water supply.
In a separate incident, the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant faced a major technical snag on Monday, July 10, resulting in a complete power outage for approximately ten hours (from 8 am to 6 pm). This disruption adversely affected the afternoon and evening water supply to the Kanhan Feeder mains in the AshiNagar Zone, Satranjipura Zone, Lakadganj Zone, and Nehru Nagar Zone. The failure was initially caused by an electrical fault in the R-Y phase of the 33 KV cubicle-2 outgoing to the LT panel. Subsequently, a three-phase fault occurred in the inner side of cubicle-2, leading to a day-long shutdown of the Kanhan Water Treatment Plant.
The Nagpur Municipal Corporation and Orange City Water have urged residents to store adequate water for their daily needs and to cooperate during this challenging situation.
