The state government will soon start an air ambulance service on Balasaheb Thackrey Samruddhi Mahamarg. The state government is in discussion with many helicopter companies for this. The government is trying to ensure that patients get immediate medical care in case of an accident on the Samriddhi Highway. The air ambulance will enable the injured to be rushed to the hospital and receive proper treatment. For this, the state government will soon enter into an agreement with the respective helicopter companies.
Earlier, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation decided to construct a helipad on the Samriddhi Highway. Around 16 helipads will be constructed along the Samruddhi Highway. These helipads will be constructed to deal with possible emergency situations after accidents on the Samriddhi Highway. As per the proposed plan, the first helipad will be located near the tunnel section of the highway between Khardi and Igatpuri, which is currently under construction.
