Nagpur Police has detained 18 prostitutes and 12 customers in the red light area of Ganga Jamuna. For the past few days, information has come to light that minor girls are being trafficked in Ganga Jamuna. The Commissioner of Police had ordered them to show seriousness and take action. Accordingly, a raid was conducted.
The staff of Lakadganj police station, along with staff of Pachapaoli, Ganeshpeth, Tehsil and Shantinagar police stations, were called for this action. The police conducted simultaneous raids on all sides, arresting prostitutes and clients from brothels. There was commotion along with the action in the police station till late at night. Earlier, too, the police had raided the Ganga Jamuna. Meanwhile, some minor girls were rescued from the den of prostitution.
