Hingoli district in Maharashtra was struck by a mild earthquake on Saturday morning. The earthquake was measured at 3.6 on the Richter Scale. Tremors were felt at 7.04 am and again at 7.12 am.
In many villages, a loud sound was heard, which spread fear among the villagers. Loud sounds below the earth’s surface were common in Hingoli. The villagers have been experiencing such sounds for the last four to five years. Pimpaldari, Amdari, Rajdari, Sonwadi, Jalaldhaba, Nandapur, Pangra Shinde, Kurunda, Sindagi, Potra, Laxman Naik Tanda, Tamti Tanda, Kupati, Wapti, Hingni, Khed experienced the tactile plate sound. Tremors were felt also in Hingoli city.
